YetAnotherGin & World Gin Day – In The Paper!

As everyone should be aware, it was World Gin Day last month and as part of the lead up to the day I had a chat with the Birmingham Mail.  It also meant I cracked out my cheesy grin:

BIRMINGHAM accountancy worker Neil Houston is hoping to give gin consumption a tonic with a worldwide tribute to Mother’s Ruin.

Mr Houston celebrated his self-declared International Gin Day to commemorate the typically British spirit and pay tribute to the much-maligned beverage.

Almost 2,000 drinkers from across the globe supported the anniversary on a social network site last month.

Mr Houston, who lives in the city centre, first had the idea to toast the tipple when he started a website JustAnotherGin.com YetAnotherGin.com to celebrate Birmingham’s cocktail scene.

He said: “I wanted it to appeal to a new younger audience.

“I thought I could cajole fellow gin-lovers into having a bit of a tipple to mark the occasion.

“Hopefully people will try a new variety to celebrate or even return to an old favourite because it is such a versatile drink,” he added.

“For me gin was a great discovery, gone are the bad memories from university.”

I like your site, although I will admit that the instigator was a friend of mine who suggested the gin & tonic to me earlier this year. She also urged me to avoid Beefeater as a first time gin drinker – I got Gordon’s, not sure if that’s any better, it’s what they had. ^^

After that I’ve bought a different bottle each time, Tanqueray, Bombay Sapphire, G’Vine and now Plymouth.

By the way, gotta ask – where you gunning for this impression or did it just happen? http://www.reviewbusters.net/images/random/sham_wow_main.jpg ^^ *runs*

Thanks! Beefeater is nice, but everyone has their preference that’s what makes it fun. Nice to see you are exploring and keep it up.

That’s exactly the shot I was looking for, reminds me of those catalogue modelling days of my youth. . . .
